Don’t Forget Your Digital Agency
Categorized in: B2B Digital Marketing
When you hire a digital marketing agency, it really is a good idea to pay attention to them and what they are doing. For many of you, this may be obvious. However, you will be surprised as to how many of our clients over the years have paid for our services and have eventually gone unresponsive.
Most are responsive at the beginning when we complete our initial analysis and strategic work. However, there have been a handful of times in recent years where a client has stopped communicating with us.
This not only hurts our relationship; it hurts your results. Here are some thoughts:
Responsiveness is Required for Approvals
Many clients think that once the strategy is approved, then it will magically get done. Well, this isn’t necessarily the case. Any piece of content that we push live for a client, whether it’s a blog post, social media, newsletter, etc, needs prior approvals. We will only post it when approved.
When the responses are slow, this holds back the process. We could have assessed that two new articles should go live on the blog in order to maximize results. What happens if approvals are slow and we only publish two articles every other week, or every month?
Well, your results won’t be as good as they could be.
We Work With You to Create a Great Process
We understand that as a busy CEO or executive of your company, you may not have the bandwidth to constantly check emails and look for approvals. We require approvals 100% of the time and that will never change, but we will work with you to create a process that will maximize your time and optimize your results.
If you find the process to be a little hard to maintain, let us know and we can work with you to adjust things. For example, we can work in larger batches of deliverables so you don’t have to answer multiple emails each week.
Schedule Time to Talk with Your Agency Partner
When you hire a service provider of any kind, you give them the attention they need to perform their services. If you hire a cable service, you will schedule an appointment with them to install the equipment at your home. If you needed to work with a lawyer or accountant, you would schedule time to meet with them. The same is true of your agency partner!
Don’t let too much time pass between communications. This will hurt your relationship with them. Instead, schedule regular time with them. In the beginning, calls will be more frequent as they learn about your company and create a strategy that will maximize your results. After that, meeting with them for monthly or even quarterly check-ins can go a long way to improving your results.
Even though you’ve hired a digital firm to take care of your marketing, this doesn’t mean you can be totally hands-off. You still need to be involved with the process!
